ALPHA-TAPE® Designs
Using the premium certified plastics ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) and PP (polypropylene), MKT North America brings you ALPHA-TAPE® in a range of finishes – from solid colors to trendy woodgrains, mirror high gloss, and anti-fingerprint matte surfaces. Trust our experience to deliver the exact product you envision.
By continually developing and combining various printing and embossing cylinders as well as different surfaces and gloss levels, a remarkable variety of decors and colors can be produced. More than 10,000 decors and over 4,000 unicolors, including various special products are already part of our range.
ALPHA-TAPE®
PP ZERO
Transform your composite panel projects with the simplicity and innovation embodied by ALPHA-TAPE® PP Zero from MKT.
ALPHA-TAPE® PP Zero can be used for all currently available zero-joint technology applications. Our product features a proprietary, extremely hard, co-extruded functional layer (also based on PP) that replaces conventional adhesives in the edgebanding process.
ALPHA-TAPE®
abs
With a heritage spanning decades, ALPHA-TAPE® stands as a market leader, leveraging ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) in edgebanding production to cater to both decorative and functional needs within the worldwide wood-based panel market. Our enduring dedication to quality and innovation has solidified our position as a trusted choice by customers.
ALPHA-TAPE®
Metallica
ALPHA-TAPE® Metallica uses a thin layer of metal foil laminated to a thermoplastic edgeband with the look and feel of real metal, without the processing challenges of a true metal edgeband.

ALPHA-TAPE® Materials
For the production of thermoplastic edgebanding, we use only high-quality, certified plastics. These are tested regularly according to strict guidelines. For conventional processing in hot-melt technology we are offering ALPHA-TAPE® in ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) and PP (polypropylene) material.
Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene
ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) is a copolymeric, thermoplastic material that has already been used in the furniture industry for over 50 years. The specific combination of individual monomers results in a particularly impact-resistant, mechanically and thermally stable plastic. At the same time, ABS impresses with its very good printability, lacquering and polish-ability and is therefore ideal for the production and further processing of edgebanding.
Polypropylene
PP (polypropylene) is a semi-crystalline, thermoplastic material that is currently the fastest growing in the world. In addition to the primary use for films and packaging materials, PP is also becoming increasingly important in the field of furniture and edgebanding production. The industry benefits from the material’s high level of environmental sustainability and recyclability as well as many other positive material and processing characteristics: PP is low in stress whitening, has a low specific weight, is flame-retardant and is very resistant to UV light and chemicals.
